Street Photography
Working quickly and respectfully in public, changing environments.

Street photography involves working in public spaces, often quickly and without the ability to direct a scene. It rewards patience and quick observation more than any specific piece of equipment.
Pick a spot and wait
Rather than constantly moving in search of a subject, many street photographers find success by identifying an interesting background or piece of light, then waiting for a subject to move through it.
Anticipate, don't just react
By the time an interesting moment is fully visible, it's often too late to capture it. Watching for the moments just before something happens — a person about to step into frame, a gesture about to begin — tends to produce better timing than reacting after the fact.
Be mindful of the people you photograph
Street photography involves photographing real people in public. Being thoughtful about context, avoiding subjects who are clearly in a private or vulnerable moment, and being willing to have a conversation if approached are part of working respectfully in this genre.
